Hook and cover shapes in 460 posts from 11 client niches

The Radar reads the posts it looks at closely for two things: what the opening does, and what the cover shows. These are 460 of those posts, from runs on 11 client niches, and how each shape did against the account that posted it.

The picture did better than the claim

The two hook shapes we saw most were a picture that does the stopping on its own (240 posts, 97 of them measurable, median 1.16× their account's usual) and a flat claim in words (111 posts, 54 of them measurable, median 0.87× their account's usual). A ratio of 1 means a post did exactly what its account usually does.

Covers

Among covers, one line of words had the highest median, 2× across 14 measured posts. That is a small number, and it is one of the reasons the library prints the posts rather than a verdict.

What these numbers can and cannot tell you

Each ratio compares a post with the account that made it, so a big account and a small one are measured on the same footing. But the sample is small: 18 runs on 11 niches, on Instagram and YouTube. 3 shapes had too few measurable posts for a median, and we did not print one for them.

The shapes are the Radar’s own closed lists, the same ones it uses on every run. Each one has a page with the real posts, linked, so you can look before you believe a median.

Director Lite runs the same method on your own assistant. It reads the web as text, so it cannot see covers.
